Portuguese courses are organized according to their corresponding CEFR levels A2, B1 and B2, so that students can obtain certification for a level in one semester. At the end of the semester there is a level certification exam.

These are blended or online courses that are given over the course of one semester: either the first semester or the second semester. The A2, B1 and B2 courses (60 hours) are given during the first or second semester. Each of these courses include an in-house exam made at the Centro de Linguas so that A2, B1 and B2 students can certify their level.

These are online courses that last two weeks and are given during the summer:  A2 (40 hours) and B1 (40 hours). The courses include an in-house exam made at the Centro de Linguas so that A2 and B1 students can certify their level.

Objectives
Improve the expression, mediation, and communication skills in the Portuguese language of students, administrative staff (PAS), and teaching staff (PDI) at the University of Vigo.

Students may use the 50-minute sessions to work on fluency through spontaneous conversation or they may dedicate the time to work on Portuguese for academic purposes, such as teaching tasks carried out in Portuguese, presentations at conferences, participation in academic forums, oral presentations for undergraduate and postgraduate subjects, and preparation for an Erasmus+ stay, etc.

How to participate
To participate, register in the PRIVATE AREA (if it’s your first time) or log in using your username and password, and then enroll in the Portuguese One2One course. Since this activity is 100% funded by the Vice-Rectorate for Internationalization, the fee is 0 euros. You can enroll at any time during the semester in which the activity is taking place.

Once your request is approved, you will have access to Portuguese One2One on Moovi. After logging in, you can book an appointment for a weekly class. Starting from the second week of the semester, preference will be given to those who have not participated previously. The reservation period will be active up to one week in advance. On the day of the class, connect 5 minutes before the scheduled time to the teacher’s virtual office on the University’s videoconferencing platform (Campus Remoto). The link and password for this office are available on the Moovi platform. The teacher will only grant you access if your name matches the one that was used to make the reservation previously. During the class, you will engage in a 50-minute conversation in Portuguese with teachers from the Centro de Linguas.

Requirements
There is no specific Portuguese language proficiency level required to participate in this activity since the teacher from the Centro de Linguas will adapt the conversation level to the participant’s proficiency. However, the participant should be able to greet, answer basic questions, and say goodbye in Portuguese.
